Country life with character. The Oast at Martins Farm Estate is a distinctive self-catering hideaway in Frant, in the High Weald countryside near Tunbridge Wells.
Sleeping four in two upstairs bedrooms, it pairs the character of a traditional oast house with the comforts that make a few days away feel easy: a welcoming sitting room, an 80-inch television, Wi-Fi and a pink AGA kitchen with a dishwasher. There is an upstairs bathroom and a separate ground-floor WC.
Outside, the private enclosed garden offers space to settle into the slower rhythm of the countryside. Guests can also explore the estate’s 15 acres of meadow, orchard and woodland. The wider grounds are not enclosed or dog-secure, so dogs stay on a lead beyond the private garden.
One well-behaved dog is included; a second may be welcomed by agreement. Dogs remain downstairs and off beds and furniture. Off-road parking, a separate boot room and a laundry outbuilding make country walks and longer stays straightforward.
The George in Frant is around a ten-minute walk away, while Tunbridge Wells is around ten minutes by car. Come for unhurried mornings, countryside walks and time together.
A two-night minimum stay usually applies. The bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs, with stairs and low beams to consider. The Oast is non-smoking.
